Date of Sighting: Mid 95 or 96? Think it was 96

Location of Sighting: Cleland, North Lanarkshire

Number of UFO(s), including the Color(s), Size(s) and Shape(s): Looking towards Newmains/Carluke from Cleland I seen a huge, bright, orange object , almost looked like a fireball, descend from the sky at a rapid speed… fast but slow enough I know it didn’t just appear but it came in rapidly from my right. Distance wise it was between 3 – 5 miles away but was still huge. As it shot into view so quick it actually hung in the air for a couple of seconds and then disappeared below the horizon.

By that time I said to me 4 mates… ‘did any of you see that’?

None of them did but as I was talking to them about what I’d just seen it shot back up… hung in mid air again for a few seconds and shot up at incredible speed and out of sight.

I pointed and said ‘there it’s back’… and luckily enough a couple of my mates caught it this time. Had they not I might have thought I was seeing things. I never seen any craft of sorts, just looked like a huge fireball but 100% it was under some sort of intelligent control as it stopped in mid air and then shot off. It also made no sound whatsoever so thinks like comets, meteors, planes, helicopters etc I know it wasn’t.

Told my teacher at school on the Monday and he noises me up all the time after that asking in class every Monday I’d id seen any wee, green man. Lol

All laughing aside… what I saw has stuck in my head since and I’ve tried searching online to see if others in my area may have also spotted it but can’t find anything.
I have seen/heard descriptions of basically the very thing I encountered but in different parts of the UK and even around the world.

Thought I might as well post about it now as I was thinking about it again tonight (2021)

Would love to know if anyone else seen it.

Distance of UFO(s) in sky: 3-5 miles away

Direction of Travel for UFO(s): Shot down diagonally… from up high and from my right…. hung in mid air and then shot down out of sight.

Further Description of Sighting: Huge, bright, orange ball. Looked like it was a ball of fire or a ball of light as the edges were feathered or slightly lighter than the centre of the ball.

If I try to estimate it’s size… given it was 3 or so miles away it was definitely larger than a detached house.
